I have difficulties uploading pictures at the right size onto my wordpress blog here, I’m sure it’s just me, but being as pictures are the bulk of my postings, I figured I’d try a new blog site and what better time to start something new than the new year. Soo, here’s the link:

Lila got a visit from her auntie Jeanie, Camilla and Grandma last weekend. It was way fun! Lila and Camilla are pretty much best friends now. ;) Here’s a picture of them in their cute little matching dresses!

Have I mentioned that Lila is the cutest baby ever? I’ve been sitting here waiting for her to wake up and eat before we go to bed and I’m thinking that it should be any time now. Here’s what happens when I don’t; as soon as I put her in bed she will stir and fuss and want to eat and sleep and eat and sleep and eat and sleep before she’ll let me sleep. Landry has to wake up at 4ish in the am so I try to make sure that when I bring her upstairs to bed that she will go right to sleep. So I’ve just been hanging out here on the internet and watching her sleep in her new bouncer which she loves, which has already made my life so much easier. Yay for having a couple minutes to catch up on household chores and taking a shower without having a crying baby. I love watching her sleep, she is so sweet and content and I love watching and listening to her breathing! Anyways, I was thinking of sleep, mmm sleep, and thought I’d post some pictures I took of her waking up with her Daddy and that Landry took of us when I really was sleeping. I foggily (hm, new word?) remember realizing that we were being photographed and then completely passing out in a nice deep sleep! That sounds wonderful, I AM SO TIRED!

Lila had her one month birthday this week, and was 4 weeks old on Saturday. Interesting how we gauge a month by 4 weeks, but it isn’t actually the same thing. I never got that song about how many days were in each month. Anyways, this last month has FLOWN by and our little baby girl is growing so fast. I was a little sad about that and wishing that I could just hold her as she was when she was first born. Then I realized that I’d better cherish her as she is now because she’s not going to stop growing! Now she’s over 2 pounds heavier and a foot longer, or so it seems. And her lungs have definitely grown and gotten stronger, she can make our ears ring. On a bad day she wants to be held all day and cries if she isn’t. On a good day she is so sweet and snuggly I can’t help but hold her all day. So pretty much I hold her all day long every day! I’m enjoying it while it lasts. :) One of my absolute favorite things she does is when she wakes up in the morning and she’s in a good mood she’ll stare at me and smile. And when she sneezes it’s followed by a sigh in her talking or “non-crying” voice. It is so so so cute! We definitely got the cutest little baby girl there ever could be!

Baby G is finally here!!! And she has a name…Lila Auriana Grow.
She was born on October 13th @ 4:55 pm and was 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 in. As of today she weighs 9 lbs 2 oz.
It has been a long but amazing 2 weeks and a couple days…but life is finally starting to feel a little bit normal. Kind of. I have a hugely increased respect for parents these days and can still hardly believe that we are now part of that category.
Landry and I can spend hours looking at Lila, watching her make faces and listening to the sounds she makes. She kept us entertained from the very beginning…if we’re lucky we’ll be able to catch some of her funniest expressions on camera to share with y’all. She is super alert and and she’ll hold her head back and stare at Landry especially for a really long time, it’s so adorable! Sigh…
She has a bunch of nicknames already- a few are; lovie, chubbers, my little stinkbug, little squeaker and our little bean burrito (pronounced buwwito).
This is a short update on our perfect little baby but much much more to come!

I love it! Love love love these prints. I was browsing fabrics for our nursery a few months ago and after checking out all the fabric stores in Sacramento and a few in San Francisco I finally found exactly what I was visioning from Michael Moore’s designer line of fabrics…

I love how the damask print is something I would decorate the rest of my house with, how the letters are modern AND young-ish and I just love the shopping girls, especially the one on the scooter! I was somehow going to use these three prints with some plain fabrics to balance it all out until I found this for the same amount it would be to just buy the fabric. With the possibility of Baby G being born ANY DAY NOW I decided just to order it…maybe later I’ll add some pillows or other accents with the letter and vespa girl prints!

I’ve been doing some last minute shopping and lucked out and found THIS adorable diaper bag!!! They say this is brocade print, but it looks pretty similar to the damask prints I’ve been coveting lately, so brocade, damask, whatever-I just am loving it!

AND to top it all off, the diaper bag has a super awesome side pocket with “shelves” in it to stack diapers and wipes and has 2 little washable zipper bags for clean and dirty clothes. Not to mention the matching changing pad and several other handy features. Ahhh impending motherhood is getting more exciting by the minute!!!

Last weekend Landry and I jetted out of the city to Napa for our last weekend vacation for a LONG time! We had a great time touring the wine country, some of the wineries in St Helena and just enjoying the beautiful country! It was much needed relaxation for him and a good change of scenery for me!

Well not anymore, but last night we had our first rain!!! It poured down for 10-15 minutes and then stopped, but the brisk air is definitely a sign that FALL IS COMING!!! So exciting, but so much for my swimming now! The last 2 weeks have not been warm enough for me to even attempt to go outside in a swim suit, let alone dare to ease myself in to the freezing cold water (it felt good when it was 90 degrees + but notsomuch these days). Yeah, I know, I’m a wuss. Speaking of rain…
2 weekends ago was my baby shower and it was super fun! I couldn’t stop smiling for the first half hour, something to do with family and friends from near and far all being together, and of course, the presents…WOOHOO! Sarah G, Shawna R, Maria S and Lois G did a GREAT job of hosting and making it a fun day for everyone. Mom, Cayla, Becky & I ended the day by going to sushi at Sacramento’s best sushi restaurant; Taro’s by Mikuni! It was Mom’s second time, she said she liked it better than the first, Cayla’s first time, she said she’d do it again, and Becky enjoyed it cuz Greg doesn’t “do sushi.” No worries, I didn’t go raw!
